Cabaret Les Elles was born out of a desire to create a space for performance, socialising and fun. This unique, ever-evolving production features circus artists and dancers who draw on the repertoire of ‘Les Elles’ six albums to create an ephemeral performance in which acts and songs intertwine. The performers adapt existing acts and explore their own creative paths, collaborating with young artists from training programmes or amateur groups wherever possible. The team behind this ever-changing project is shaped by the people they meet and the locations in which they perform. This is precisely where its strength lies.

We are seven. Women. Finnish.
We are circus artists, we yell uproariously.
Seven ways to do this job and one collective creation to meet once in a while and practice it together.
In a sauna, on skis, running, or on a boat, we ask ourselves: « why do we do this? »
After having toured the world and the question, we decided to make a movie.
To make cinema like we make a circus show.

HIKI is the latest creation by the MAD COLLECTIVE, following on from Mad in Finland. After exploring representations of femininity through an overflowing collective energy, the artists now turn their attention to the intimate: the body, its transformations, its contradictions, and its power.

In Finnish, “hiki” means “sweat.” It is from this universal yet taboo subject that the performance takes shape. Inspired by the sauna culture deeply rooted in the Nordic countries, the production immerses us in a space where bodies reveal themselves, relax, and coexist in a form of shared silence—a place of transformation, transition, and freedom.
In the sauna, sweat is welcomed as a source of well-being and purification. But outside that space, it often becomes a source of embarrassment, particularly when it comes to the female body. HIKI tackles this paradox with humor, tenderness, and irreverence.
Through circus arts, acrobatics, and physical theater, four women challenge the norms that shape how we view bodies: femininity, desire, aging, cleanliness, and performance. They reveal what is usually hidden and celebrate sweat as an expression of life, an act of empowerment, and a form of resistance.

Somewhere between ritual, performance, and a celebration of the body, HIKI invites us to sweat together, laugh at conventions, and fully embrace what makes us human.

“V” is a performance about the decision to break away from what was before.

Shaped as an autobiographical fiction the performance travels through the many landscapes of inner change like many possible paths – between blurred visions, air gaps and times for moving on.
Viivi Roiha’s genuine, sensitive and highly physical performance takes place on an empty stage. By her side, her lifelong partner : a vertical rope which she has made shorter for « V ».
The original music-composed and partly improvised live by the musician-visual artist Mika Pusse- makes the space vibrate with its mix of computer-free electronic music and the artist’s singular voice.
All together these elements take us on a journey through different heights and inner states of mind and remind us of the power of Vulnerability

An intimate, political and humourous circus production with three performers

Grief journal

Each day is like a little death
I’m losing my body
Day after day, I’m losing my acrobatic body
One day, I lost a figure
And the day after, I lost my father,
And then, I lost Corsica,
And then, I lost my connection to this land,
And to my forebears too?

An immersive performance

The spectators are invited as family guests, feeling like home! They will be at times witnesses and at times taken to task. We’ll start all over again. This is the story of a woman observing. Witnessing how affected she is by the death of her father. “I lost my Corsican identity when he died. Does this mean I don’t really belong to my family anymore? What did he pass on to me and what did he impose on me?”

Circus with a sense of closeness

Hula hoop, roller skating and acrobatic feats are performed very close to a moving audience, the spectators are being invited to enter an intimate sphere, attend a delicate and poetic performance created just for them.

Giving them the feeling of something unique, catching things invisible to other people.

The circus feat is displayed, taking on its full meaning in such an intimate atmosphere.

“Offering the spectators biscuits specially made for them, perched on rollerblades, making sure not to push nor step on their toes”, this is a playful and daily performance that carries the message.
