MORE INFOS ABOUT VIIVI

“V” is a performance dealing with the decision to break away from what was before. It is a personal diary blurred with imagination, showing moments of one moving onwards, and backwards, on the path of change.

The genuine, sensitive and highly physical performance by Viivi Roiha takes place on an empty stage. Permeable live music by Mika Pusse is an integral part of the performance.

The third performer, a short piece of a rope, transports the performer as well as the audience through different heights and inner states, towards the strength of daring to be vulnerable.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

An intimate, political and humourous circus production with three performers

Grief journal

Each day is like a little death
I’m losing my body
Day after day, I’m losing my acrobatic body
One day, I lost a figure
And the day after, I lost my father,
And then, I lost Corsica,
And then, I lost my connection to this land,
And to my forebears too?

An immersive performance

The spectators are invited as family guests, feeling like home! They will be at times witnesses and at times taken to task. We’ll start all over again. This is the story of a woman observing. Witnessing how affected she is by  the death of her father. “I lost my Corsican identity when he died. Does this mean I don’t really belong to my family anymore? What did he pass on to me and what did he impose on me?”

Circus with a sense of closeness

Hula hoop, roller skating and acrobatic feats are performed very close to a moving audience, the spectators are being invited to enter an intimate sphere, attend a delicate and poetic performance created just for them.

Giving them the feeling of something unique, catching things invisible to other people.

The circus feat is displayed, taking on its full meaning in such an intimate atmosphere.

“Offering the spectators biscuits specially made for them, perched on rollerblades, making sure not to push nor step on their toes”, this is a playful and daily performance that carries the message.

LA BALANÇOIRE GÉANTE

LA BALANÇOIRE GÉANTE

La Balançoire géante

Sidney Pin / La Volte cirque

– June 2023 –

ABOUT THE ARTIST

© Romain Charrier

Halfway between a swinging trapeze and a Russian swing, la Balançoire Géante features an acrobat attempting a revolution, not without some difficulty, on a 12 meter high swinging apparatus. A mix of a circus performance, a workshop on aerial acrobatics and a therapy session, the creative process is ongoing.

Through a psycho-socio-political self-analysis, our athlete challenges his motivation to train day and night to perform a silly and useless action in order to become the Balançoire Géante world champion.

The show is about performing, virilism, analyzing his condition as an acrobat, telling about Kiiking, Emmanuel Macron, Tina Turner and Richard Wagner.

DE BONNES RAISONS

DE BONNES RAISONS

De bonnes raisons

Matthieu Gary et Sidney Pin

– January 2022 –

ABOUT THE ARTIST

© Damien Bossis

It’s okay to make loads of physical experiences when you’re eight years old, taking a spill on your bike, doing a belly flop at the swimming pool, jumping from your neighbour’s roof. All this broadens one’s horizons and shapes one’s personality. But when twenty years later, you find yourself upside down on a piece of metal, balancing on your buddy’s shoulder seven meters above the ground, in front of 200 people who pay you to do it, you have your doubts.

De bonnes raisons features two acrobats philosophising joyfully about risk-taking.
