Since its creation in 2014, French organisation L’Avant Courrier has provided back-up in terms of production and touring management for contemporary circus artists. This takes the form of long-term collaborations involving about fifteen artistic projects of all styles and aesthetics. The outline of each collaboration changes every year according to the development of the productions.

Behind the scenes of L’Avant Courrier, there is a team of five production and touring managers – Lisa Henin, Anne Heuveline, Nolwenn Manac’h, Clémence Mugard and Louise-Michèle You – who develop the organisation with a collective approach. Taking, as much as possible, the necessary time to integrate these professions in a vaster reflection of cultural policies and democracy.

To this end, the organisation provides vocational training, consulting assignment and tutorage, designing specific sessions to suit the needs of artists, production and touring managers and troupes. L’Avant Courrier also acts locally by taking part in the development of the industry of circus and performing arts in the region as well as co-organising Les Avant Curieux, a biennialcircus and street arts festival in Nantes.  L’Avant Courrier is supported by La Ville de Nantes, La Région Pays de la Loire and Le Conseil Départemental de Loire-Atlantique.
