Elice Abonce Muhonen graduated from CNAC (École Nationale Supérieure des Arts du Cirque). She is a founding member of the circus collective Galapiat Cirque (France). Her main disciplines are swinging trapeze, hair hanging and the wheel of death.
Her shows “Attraction Capillaire”, “Thunder Dog”, “Mad in Finland” (2015 circus arts award), “Capilotractées” and “Risque Zero” have been touring all over the world for over a decade. She is an artistic director for Sirkusfestivaali Pusu and co-founded Taideyhdisty Nyt ry. Since 2013, she started creating Mad in Finland, her first documentary feature film.
We are seven. Women. Finnish.
We are circus artists, we yell uproariously.
Seven ways to do this job and one collective creation to meet once in a while and practice it together.
In a sauna, on skis, running, or on a boat, we ask ourselves: « why do we do this? »
After having toured the world and the question, we decided to make a movie.
To make cinema like we make a circus show.
